Memes
I love memes and rice. It is known. Ever been in a chat and thought, “need meme now”? Well, your wish is this bot’s command. This bot spices up conversations with memes from my handpicked Instagram collection.
The Guts of the Operation
- Python: The muscle that digs through my memes.
- Selenium: Helps Python interact with WhatsApp Web.
- WhatsApp Web: Where your chats get a dose of meme magic.
How it works
Text me “memepls” on WhatsApp, and this Python-powered bot will dive into my ultimate meme collection on my local computer. It’ll pick a random gem and shoot it right back at you via WhatsApp Web.
Why You Need This in Your Life
Because memes make everything better, that’s why. And with this bot, you’re getting memes curated by yours truly.
Code
from selenium import webdriver
from selenium.webdriver.common.keys import Keys
from selenium.common.exceptions import NoSuchElementException
import time
import os, random
'''
For this to work u must have downloaded the chrome webdriver
sendMessage() takes a contact and delivers any message passed into the function
note: the contact name cannot contain a non character such as an emoji
findMeme() locates a random file in a specified local directory and returns its path
note: The directory path to get to a meme in my case was Folder -> Folder -> Meme
This meant I had to go into the main folder, choose a random folder in that folder, then from that folder a random meme
'''
